|The tuition for summer workshops includes shared room accommodations in our Boomer Bill summer farmhouse (the original home on the Langsner property.) Summer farmhouse users bring their own sheets, blankets (or sleeping bag) and pillow. We also have 4 private rooms available in our Guest Cabin and Shop Loft. The private rooms are $25/night and bedding is included. Summer temperatures usually vary between 55 and 85 degrees.
Fall and winter tutorial tuition includes a private, heated room in our Shop Loft or the log Guest Cabin. Fall-winter weather ranges from about 15 to 65 degrees.
Three garden-fresh meals are prepared each day by Louise and served in the Langsner dining room or at the outdoor picnic tables under our timber-frame pavilion. Meals are provided on the evening before classes begin through lunch of the final day.
Extra guests are welcome during summer workshops and fall/winter tutorials when accommodations are available. The cost is $15/night in a shared room. Guest meal charges are: breakfast $10, lunch $15, supper $20.
Most of our students drive to Country Workshops. If youre flying, the closest airports are Asheville, NC, Tri-Cities (Bristol), TN, and Knoxville, TN. Airport pickups can often be arranged with other class members who will be driving by one of these airports on their way to Country Workshops.
Plan to arrive between 4 and 6 p.m. on the afternoon preceding your course. This will allow time to become acquainted, move in, and enjoy the evening meal. Daily classes are from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Class members are expected to help with table setup and clearing dishes. Arrangements can be made for supper and overnight lodging on the last day of class.
