Something Special
for our Extra Guests
The mountains of western North Carolina have much to offer – great scenery, some of the nicest weather in the North America, a diverse and high level art and craft community, outdoors recreation (hiking, rafting and kayaking, trout fishing and trail riding), the famous Biltmore house, and much more. We now offer several 'in-house' activities for family members or friends who accompany students to woodworking classes.

Cooking with Louise
Students at Country Workshops have been complimenting Louise Langsner's cooking for many years, often telling us that they return just for the wonderful meals.
"Cooking With Louise" is for anyone who would like to explore adventurous ways to cook healthy food with fresh-from-the-garden flavor. Louise is inspired by ethnic cuisines and likes to bake sourdough bread. Cooking with Louise can be arranged for any of our tutorial weeks. Instruction is approximately 4 hours a day, beginning after lunch. The $550 fee includes your shared room, and meals, of course. Limited to two students.

Quilting with Karol
We are also pleased to help facilitate private quilting lessons with our good friend Karol Kavaya. Karol has been quilting for over twenty-five years and is the co-author of Community Quilts. This can be set up on a daily basis, by private arrangement. Contact Karol by phone at 828 649 2085.
